Luis Ortiz Remembered After Recent Passing As Family Seeks Support For Medical Bills, Funeral Plans, And Return To Puerto Rico
Luis Ortiz passed away recently, leaving family and friends mourning a devoted friend, sibling, cousin, parent, and grandparent.
Zoralis Ortiz created a fundraiser on June 6, 2026, in loving memory of Luis Ortiz, with $1,384 raised toward a $12,000 goal through 17 donations.
Luis worked hard for more than 20 years and spent seven years on dialysis while waiting for a kidney transplant.
That transplant supported Luis for 19 years before the kidney stopped functioning over the last two years, leading Luis back to dialysis about two months ago.
Family members remembered Luis as someone who loved building things, fixing cars, spending time outdoors, and giving everything possible to family and grandkids.
Relatives said they hope to cover unexpected medical bills, funeral arrangements, and the effort to bring Luis back to Puerto Rico, where Luis longed to be.
Memorial service details will be announced later by family members.
