Dorothy Brazell Remembered With Memorial Bench Fundraiser Honoring 104 Years In Fernandina Beach
Dorothy Brazell passed away on May 17, 2026, leaving family, friends, and community members with warm memories of a life marked by kindness, faith, humor, and service.
Jean Roberts organized a fundraiser on June 7, 2026, titled “A Bench for Dorothy: Celebrating Her Legacy,” to support a memorial bench by the docks in Fernandina Beach.
The campaign had raised $1,600 toward a $5,000 goal through 15 donations, with funds planned for the bench, engraved plaque, installation, site preparation, and possible maintenance.
Loved ones remembered Dorothy as “Mama” and “Ms. Dot,” a wonderful parent, talented seamstress, harmonica dabbler, and welcoming presence who touched many lives.
Family members will announce obituary and memorial service details at a later time.
